Equipment and Machinery Eligible for Modernization Credit Insured by the Federal Housing Administration
This historic pamphlet describes an amendment to the 1935 National Housing Act which permitted certain parties to apply for FHA-insured loans to finance equipment and machinery for multi-family homes, apartments, hotels, commercial buildings, hospitals, orphanages, colleges and schools, and manufacturing facilities. Loans of up to $50,000 were eligible under the program. This plan, the Modernization Credit Plan, was part of the FHA’s Better Housing program.
